I'm scared to get sick.

I'm venting because I'm scared to get sick. It's not a phobia or anything but I am terrified of what an actual medical emergency will do financially to my family. Especially if I need ongoing treatment. And the fact that I have to be scared of that makes me furious. Last year my daughter had a medical emergency that resulted in her being admitted to the hospital and a battery of tests over the course of a week. After leaving the hospital and paying our co-pay we thought all was done. A year later we are getting bills. These bills were sent to me from a collection agency. Not the hospital. In fact in a year they never even contacted us. To make is more ludicrous they sent it to my grandmother

Bubble Bins Saved my garage and nose

I live in a heavily deed restricted neighborhood. There are rules about everything. Where you park, how many people you allow to join you at the pool, what color you paint you home and even where you put your trash cans. So while having a strict HOA is excellent for things like keeping property values up and preventing your neighbor from painting their home neon pink, it's not so great when you have to put your stinky, disgusting, germ filled trash cans INSIDE your garage. In my neighborhood leaving your cans outside will get you a violation letter. Nothing ruins your day faster than stinking trash cans and a violation letter over it. I get it, nobody wants to see a trash canned lined stree

Moms Spend over 1/6th of their lives in their cars.

Research says the average person spends 229,961 of their life sleeping. That's basically a third of your life. Another study says the average person spends 101 minutes a day driving. That is about 37,935 hours and that is only if they started driving at about 17 years old and until they are 78 but I would bet that is not the average for a mom. I'd like to see a study done on a mom of multiple children all with different activities. And let's include time in the car not actively driving, just waiting for something... school to get out, practice to end or because you timed a drive wrong and are killing time while waiting for something to start that will go up. Actually... I wold be the perfec

Summer Travel Tips

Every summer millions of people pack up their suitcase and head out to enjoy a little rest and relaxation. Of those millions of people, many will be families on their way to visit relatives or make memories at new destinations. Before your family goes on vacation, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital wants to remind you to stay safe on every ride. “Road injuries are the leading cause of unintentional child death in the United States,” explains Petra Vybiralova, MSW, CPSTI, Safe Kids Supervisor at Johns Hopkins All Children’s. “When car seats, booster seats and seatbelts are used correctly, the risk of injury is greatly reduced.” No matter where you are going or how you are getting there, th

Why Each Child Needs To Learn How To Lose

Few childhood experiences can compare with being on a Little League team. From the point of view of a child, it’s a chance to meet new friends, experience the highs and lows of competitive sports, and get active when away from school. For parents, it’s a way to help their children’s physical, mental, and social development. Naturally, the last thing a parent wants is for their child to miss out on the opportunity to develop the emotional and physical skills that sports has to offer. But sadly, this is tough to avoid when a team finds itself on the losing side more often than not. Thankfully, brands like Strideline have a solution that tackles the problem at its source by shifting the focus a
