Beyond Basic Manners (or How Not to Raise an A**hole)

You know, it seems more and more often I've been noticing a lack of basic manners. Not just from kids but from adults! Often even more so it seems with men. I'm not sure what has caused this. Maybe it's always been and I'm just now noticing or maybe somehow politeness is no longer in style. But I actually think it's as simple as maybe we are seeing generation after generation where fewer and fewer people are being taught basic manners so you can only imagine not valuing this means they wouldn't pass that on to their own children. I don't remember my parents ever really stressing certain things, they were just common things you do to be courteous like hold the door, give up your seat to a se

Flu Season is Here

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital and the Tampa Bay community is already seeing an increase in flu cases, but it's not too late for families to get their flu shot. Influenza vaccines can help prevent this serious illness that can lead to hospitalization and sometimes, even death. As a reminder, the flu mist is not being offered at our hospital due to the CDC ruling it has been ineffective in year's past. At Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, we put patient safety first by requiring all our employees and volunteers to get a flu shot and recommend the same for all parents and their family members. https://www.hopkinsallchildrens.org/ach-news/general-news/protect-your-family-with-the-an

Why every caregiver needs a weekly Reformer Pilates routine.

Reformer Pilates is no longer unattainable for the average person. There was a persona for the longest time that only those who had expendable income or ballet dancers were the only ones that could practice Reformer Pilates. The practice of Reformer Pilates has evolved to become more accessible and affordable to meet the strenuous demands of everyday life. Unfortunately, the daily demands of our current culture have taken a toll on our overall health. We have rising issues of posture, spinal, joint and muscular dysfunction. Chronic issues like arthritis, osteoporosis, bursitis, edema, spinal fusions, herniation, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, slipped discs, etc. can be corrected with Reforme

A Years Worth of Resolutions.

I love the New Year. I do. I really do. It's like a reset. It's full of hope and promise and most people feel like a new chance or a fresh start but I don't think of it that way. To me it's a continuation but one full of opportunities that you may have been blind or just hesitant to in the past. Maybe that's why I'm not usually one to make resolutions. It always feels like a lot of unnecessary pressure. Like that sparkler you light on New Year's eve it is so bright until it fizzles out. If you don't accomplish them was the last year a failure? Seems extreme right? So rather than one bug resolution I rather just try to make little changes that make life better and I don't need to wait for a
