Get Boo-ed!

It's time to start TBMG's Annual Tradition of helping Boo Tampa Bay! We have been doing this for several years and it's a lot of fun! Plus finding other TBMG families as you trick or treat is always cute. So how do you Boo someone? 1. It's so easy. Just print out 2 copies of the flyer (black and white or color, it doesn't matter) 2. Leave one flyer and a treat on a neighbors door (or even a coworkers desk or kids may want to spread the spirit at school)!!! You can make goody bags or leave dollar store goodies, snacks, even a tiny pumpkin. Get creative! 3. Then the people you booed each do the same and Boo two more people and it goes from there! 4. Once you are Boo-ed be sure to hang the lef

I Have a New Baby. Why Am I So Sad?

You’re not alone. Nearly every new mother experiences some type of sadness in the first few weeks after her baby is born. They are most likely experiencing what are called the baby blues and are having a range of feelings that might include exhaustion, fatigue, sadness, frustration, insomnia, unstable emotions, feels of being overwhelmed, frequent crying, anxiety and irritability. But the baby blues usually begin to fade within a few weeks after birth, with many new moms starting to feel a little better each day starting in week three. But others – about one in seven – start to feel worse, and their symptoms progress to full-blown postpartum depression which can be diagnosed any time in t

6 Reasons to Consign (and buy!)

6 Reasons to Consign (and buy!) Gently Used Children's Items through Consignment Events 1. Save Money! This is probably the most obvious reason. When you shop consignment you can get great deals on quality gently used items that are just as good as brand new for a fraction of the price. This is especially true for newborn and infant items that are barely used since babies outgrow them very quickly. Look for organizations that only accept items in great condition so you know you can expect to find quality items. 2. Make Money! When you consign, the process is easy and simple. You set your own prices, tag your items in the comfort of your own home, drop off your items and they do the

Fabulous app- Review

You’d think that with having a large family I’d be super organized. Nope! Recently, I was looking for an app to help get my life in order, and right at the top of “organization apps” suggestions was one called Fabulous. I read through the description and thought it was definitely worth a try. (There were others but this list totally applied to me). I don’t have ADHD but I do have ADD. I’m easily overwhelmed which is why I don’t get a lot accomplished. There are many things I need to do every day and it’s overwhelming so I give up and play a game on my phone, scroll through Facebook/Instagram or take a nap. This leads to mass chaos and mess. I wanted to change. Fabulous allows you to choose y

Nothing in this world is as bad as losing a child. Nothing. When you are a mother and have more than once child and suddenly one is taken from you, you still have to go on living when all you want to do is die. Unless it's happened to you you can't imagine the pain. The way you have to force yourself to live each day, to keep breathing, to adapt to the pain because it never goes away. Nothing is this world is as bad. It's the same for miscarriages. Often people don't realize that the loss can be just as great. Where the loss of a child is met with unconditional sympathy miscarriage is met with comments that are supposed to make us feel better and only make us feel worse. "At least it happene

Miracle of the Moment

On Saturday, my family and I said goodbye to a dear friend. She fought cancer for four long years. As I sat in the service I reflected on my own life and how I lived it. I’m a procrastinator. Big time. I never reach my fitness goals because I’m lazy. Sandee can never hug her family again. She will never laugh with her friends again. She won’t get to see my daughter dance anymore. But I'm still here and I can still do all of these things. “Do what she can no longer do” popped into my head. I want to remember this every day not just for Sandee but for my mother-in-law, Granny Pat, Shirley and all of the many people we know who have lost their lives to cancer, to anyone who is no longer with us

Lunch Hero to the Rescue

I think it's a safe bet to say that school lunches can be a challenge. While some moms make homemade nutritious meals an artform form (yes, Pinterest queens, I'm talking to you) some of us are lucky if we can get the kids things that aren't prepackaged. Most days my daughter’s bento if filled with either a sandwich, nuggets, carrot sticks, some fruit and chips but then there are days where I'm lucky if I can remember to send her with her lunch! And don't get me started on school lunches. Ugh. I didn't believe how bad they were until I had lunch with my daughter. Besides being things kids generally don't like, bland and flavorless and too small a portion to even constitute an actual meal for
